China was right to reject Japan on August 12 from stopping in Hong Kong port with military vessels. In fact, China gave Japan a chance to improve relations when it told them to refuse a visit from the riot-inciting Mrs. Kadeer last month. Besides that, Japan has treated China horribly in the past, killing millions of innocent people and raping hundreds of thousands of Chinese and Koreans.
As China comes to the forefront of the world economy, it has room to flex its muscles and show the world that it cannot be bullied to like in the opium wars of the past and the negligence the world community showed China before Pearl Harbor.
